Our new Clinical and Translational Research Informatics Center (CTRIC) is an integral part of the CCTST and serves as the hub of research informatics activity for the Academic Health Center. The CTRIC is led by Director Peter Embi, MD, MS, and Co-Director John Hutton, MD.
CTRIC services and activities include: - The Researchers’ ToolSet, a core group of investigator productivity, research management, and collaborative applications (details coming soon)
- CTRIC Consultation Service providing assistance with:
- Data management services for AHC investigators
- Enhanced clinical trial recruitment through IT solutions
- Improved protocol design, analysis, and trial management
- Improved regulatory compliance/reporting
- Assistance with complex Research Data Warehouse queries
- Clinical trial protocol feasibility analysis
- Clinical trial recruitment prediction and assistance with recruitment efforts
- Development of databases for individual projects using common tools
- Access to disparate data repositories not yet loaded into Research Data Warehouse
- Outcomes research (supporting population informatics research)
- Translational bioinformatics research support
- Advanced dissemination of knowledge at point-of-care

- CTRIC Director Dr. Peter Embi also created and manages ResearchInformatics.org , an open-access Website devoted to discussion, information sharing, and collaboration among those working to advance the rapidly developing field of clinical research informatics (CRI). - Finally, CTRIC faculty are engaged in Clinical and Research Informatics innovation and research, as part of our Research Informatics Laboratory.
