The CCTST is building on the strengths of the highly successful CCHMC Translational Research Initiative (TRI), utilizing Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) support to expand this intramural funding program for pilot and collaborative research to the entire Academic Health Center (AHC).  The Pilot and Collaborative Translational and Clinical Studies (PCS) Core is directed by TRI leader Timothy Cripe, MD, PhD, and co-directed by Chong Ahn, PhD, Professor, UC Department of Biomedical Engineering.

Funding priorities include:

  • Investigators new to clinical and translational research
  • Collaborations between basic scientists and clinicians
  • Interdisciplinary studies, esp. those involving 2 or more AHC institutions (UC east and west campuses, CCHMC, VA Medical Center, University Hospital)
