CCHMC Diversity and Health Disparities Research Award

On December 20, 2013 a new internal grant mechanism for CCHMC faculty was announced: the Diversity and Health Disparities Research Award. This award will provide research funds for highly skilled junior faculty members from all CCHMC Departments who are underrepresented minorities and/or have a strong commitment to health disparities research. The funding available is $75,000 per year in direct costs for up to two years.

The long-term objective of this funding opportunity is to promote the career development of underrepresented faculty and to enhance the health disparities research effort at CCHMC. Funding may be used for basic, translational, clinical, informatics, or outcomes research. One grant will be awarded each year. These awards are a component of the Office for Faculty Development’s Diversity Strategic Plan. They will be reviewed by the Place Outcomes Award review committee, chaired by Dr. Evie Alessandrini.
