Goals of the talk are to help participants gain an understanding of important differences between conscious and unconscious bias, the role the brain plays when forming biases, the impact empathy can have on bias and the potential impact of being complicit and complacent. Nurses, physicians, pharmacists, trainees, undergraduate students, graduate students, medical students, residents, fellows, faculty and staff with an interest in all aspects of diversity and inclusion are invited to attend. There is no cost, and continuing education credits are being offered.
A light lunch will be provided.
